Job Role: GAP ICT Service Desk / Projects Assistant

Department: Information Communication Technology (ICT)

Location: Luton Campus 

Salary: £12.01 per hour 

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (October 2024 – April 2025)

To be eligible to apply you must be a graduate who received an Undergraduate Honours degree from the University of Bedfordshire between January – July 2024. 

 

About the ICT Service Desk / Projects Assistant placement

The Service Desk Operator provides support and assistance to all users acting as the first point of contact regarding all ICT (Information Communication Technology) related incidents, requests and queries.

The Service Desk Operator is required to work as part of a Service Desk team, carrying out duties which include (but not limited to) classifying, logging and performing 1st line diagnostics across all technologies including Managed Data, Voice & VoIP. They will also need to manage & support all incidents raised via the Service Desk through to completion, including liaising with resolver groups. 

The Service Desk Operator may be required to support Project related Service Improvement activities when agreed with line manager.

 

About the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Department 

The ICT department supports the customers, primarily University Staff, with a fully integrated, modern, secure and safe learning and working experience.

ICT is responsible for delivering following IT Service:

  • Service Desk
  • Desktop, AV and Media
  • Network and Telecoms
  • Systems Infrastructure
  • Corporate Information Systems

Eligibility

The GAP is open to any graduate who undertook an undergraduate (BA/BSc/BEng/LLB) course at the University of Bedfordshire on either a full or a part time basis, and were awarded their honours degree between January and July 2024.

You will not be eligible to apply if you are currently or will be undertaking any postgraduate study at the University of Bedfordshire or another university during the period of the placement.
