GAP Treehouse Assistant

Job Role: GAP Treehouse Assistant 

Department: Community and Faith (Student Support)

Location: Luton and Bedford Campus 

Salary: £12.01 per hour 

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (October 2024 – April 2025)

To be eligible to apply you must be a graduate who received an Undergraduate Honours degree from the University of Bedfordshire between January – July 2024. 

 

About the GAP Treehouse Assistant Placement 

The Treehouse Assistant will work on the Luton campus assisting the Treehouse Team of Chaplains and volunteers in the daily activities of the Treehouse.  

The role will report to the Lead Chaplain (Community and Faith) and Head of Student Support and be responsible for: 

  • Supporting the opening and closing of the Treehouse 
  • Preparing the Treehouse to receive students and staff
  • Supporting hospitality
  • Interacting with students, supporting students and engaging in conversation 
  • Supporting activities such as board and card games
  • Helping student’s access facilities such as the Prayer rooms and wash facilities. 
  • Supporting the delivery of social media content across the Community and Faith Teams
  • Provide administrative support for events that support the Student Journey (i.e. Welcome weeks / student information stands) 

 

About the Community and Faith Service

The Community and Faith Treehouse Team are based on the Luton and Bedford campus and are part of the Student Support Team providing a Chaplaincy service in a multi-cultural and multi faith setting  which forms part of the Universities Student Support Services.  

They provide a safe haven for students and staff in a bespoke setting reaching out to the University of Bedfordshire Community. The service runs across campuses and is reliant on excellent communication to enhance the service.

Eligibility

The GAP is open to any graduate who undertook an undergraduate (BA/BSc/BEng/LLB) course at the University of Bedfordshire on either a full or a part time basis, and were awarded their honours degree between January and July 2024.

You will not be eligible to apply if you are currently or will be undertaking any postgraduate study at the University of Bedfordshire or another university during the period of the placement.
